Letter from a Client: Unveiling the Sacred Role of a Doula

Brittany Mason pregnant with daughter | Los Angeles | 2015

To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to recommend Brittany Mason as a doula. Brittany provided essential support during my first childbirth journey, which started as a home birth but eventually required a hospital transfer.

Her presence and assistance had a profound impact on my husband and me. From the outset, Brittany displayed professionalism and a genuine commitment to helping us prepare for the birth. She facilitated open and honest conversations, creating a strong connection with us.

She also showed a sincere interest in understanding our diverse cultural backgrounds – I am from Israel, and my husband has Mexican heritage – and she navigated both cultures with ease. Even though we ended up with a cesarean and totally not how we wanted to welcome our baby girl, we felt good and strong since we were open to accept any scenario.

During the home labor, Brittany’s presence was comforting and energizing. She made me feel cared for and guided, and was a trusted source of support. She was very sensitive to my needs and effectively communicated with others in the room, ensuring everyone knew how to support me.

One of the standout features of Brittany;s care was her efficiency and calmness when we needed to decide to transfer to the hospital. She helped us feel confident with our decision, managed the logistics and, allowing us to focus on our well-being as we were exhausted. She was a steady presence during this uncertain time.

Brittanys commitment extends beyond labor and birth; she is very helpful as a postpartum doula. She offered guidance, checked on my emotional well-being, and was consistently available to answer questions like an old friend or family.

Her responsiveness to text messages and ongoing support were invaluable during the postpartum period. She connected me with other new mothers in the area, to form a community, creating a sense of camaraderie and empowerment which I’m deeply grateful for.

I wholeheartedly recommend Brittany Mason as a doula. She provides exceptional support and creates an environment that allows families to navigate the journey of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with confidence and care.

Her dedication and warmth make her an invaluable resource for any family. If you have any questions or need further information, please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely, Hadar Rosenbach
